This page explains what information Mainly collects, why, and what we do with it. We've kept it in plain English. If anything's unclear, email us at hello@gomainly.com.
"Mainly", "we" and "us" means The Trustee for the Knightley Trust (ABN 80 596 437 485), based in Queensland, Australia.
What we collect
About businesses we'd like to work with. Before we contact a business, we look at information it has already made public: its name, phone number, address, hours, services, photos, logo, online reviews and existing website. We use this to build a preview website and to email the business about it.
When you contact us. If you email, text or call us, we keep what you send us, along with your name, email address and phone number.
When you become a customer. We keep the details we need to build and run your website: your contact details, business details, the content you give us (text, photos, logos) and your change requests.
Payments. Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
When you visit our website. We collect basic visit statistics, such as which pages were viewed, the type of device and the country you're visiting from. We don't use this to identify you, and we don't run advertising trackers.
How we use it

- To keep our services secure and working properly
- To meet our legal obligations
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for other companies' advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share information with companies that help us run Mainly, such as our website hosting, email, payment and text messaging providers, and only as much as they need to do that job. We may also share information if the law requires it, or as part of selling or reorganizing the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
Preview websites
Preview websites sit on a private link that isn't listed on search engines. If you'd like us to take down a preview of your business, or stop emailing you, just reply to any of our emails or write to hello@gomainly.com and we'll do it. We delete unused previews after 90 days.
Emails from us
Every marketing email we send includes a way to opt out. If you opt out, we'll stop within 5 business days, though we may still email you about services you've already signed up for.
How long we keep it
Billing records, such as invoices and payment history, are kept for as long as tax law requires us to keep them, which can be up to 7 years.
Everything else, such as your content, messages and change requests, is deleted within 2 years after you stop being a customer. Information about businesses we contacted that didn't become customers is deleted within 1 year.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hello@gomainly.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on the state you live in, you may have extra rights under state privacy law, and we'll honor those too.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and tell customers by email.
